Our Impact For Charity.

GOATMOUNTAIN

Our Impact

GoatMountain™ was built around one belief:
the climb matters more than the summit.

“When I picked up my cross, I had no idea how heavy it really was — until I tried to lift it off the ground.”

Life doesn’t hit everyone equally. Some families are forced into battles they never chose — medical, emotional, financial — and they carry that weight quietly while the world keeps moving.

Our Impact exists to turn what we build into something that gives back — honestly, transparently, and without pretending to be something we’re not.

Our giving pledge

20% of net profits (after costs) are set aside for sick children’s causes — forever — and are shared between our supported charities.

This pledge is designed to be sustainable long-term, so fulfilment stays strong and giving stays real.

Honouring the NHS

We honour the NHS for the extraordinary work they do — the doctors, nurses, and hospital teams who show up when families are at their most vulnerable. We see that service as a gift, and we support the people and charities who stand beside children and families through the hardest seasons.

GoatMountain does not represent the NHS and is not endorsed by the NHS. We simply give with gratitude and respect.

What we support

GoatMountain contributes financially to organisations supporting children and families facing serious health challenges. Supported charities may evolve over time, but our commitment to giving remains the same.

Current supported charities

  • Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC)
  • The Archie Foundation

Important: The 20% impact pledge is a total contribution, shared between the charities listed above (it is not 20% to each).

These organizations provide care, comfort, and support during some of the hardest moments a family can face.

How contributions work (full transparency)

GoatMountain is a commercial brand, not a registered charity.

Every item is sold as a standard retail product. Revenue first covers the real costs of running a reliable store:

  • production and fulfilment
  • shipping and handling
  • VAT (where applicable)
  • platform fees (Shopify / payment processing)
  • refunds, replacements, and customer support
  • operational expenses required to keep fulfilment stable

What “net profit” means here

Net profit is calculated after the costs above are paid and a small fulfilment reserve is maintained to keep orders moving (especially important for print-on-demand). Once net profit is confirmed, we set aside 20% for impact. This 20% is shared across our supported charities.

Giving cadence

Quarterly

set aside monthly, donated periodically

Note: any per-item figures can change with shipping, fees, discounts, exchange rates, refunds, and supplier pricing. That’s why we calculate giving from confirmed net profit rather than making “per order” claims.

Why we do it this way

We believe honesty builds more trust than big claims.

Rather than using vague language like “all proceeds”, we choose to be clear about:

  • what it costs to make and deliver our products
  • what we give (20% of net profits)
  • how and when contributions are calculated

This ensures

  • customers understand what the purchase supports
  • charities are respected — not used as marketing
  • the commitment stays sustainable long-term

Donation timing & accountability

Donations are made periodically (typically quarterly) based on confirmed net profits. Where possible, we aim to:

  • share donation confirmations
  • update this page as contributions are made
  • remain open about how this model evolves as we grow

This page will grow as our impact grows.

What this is — and what it isn’t

This is

  • a commitment to give back responsibly
  • a way to turn meaning into action
  • a long-term approach — not a one-off gesture

This is not

  • a fundraising campaign run on behalf of a charity
  • a promise that every product supports a cause
  • a claim that a purchase “donates” a fixed amount

It’s simply one brand choosing to contribute where it can — with respect, and without exaggeration.

Thank you

If you’ve supported, shared, or worn something that carries meaning — thank you.

Impact isn’t always loud.
Sometimes it’s choosing to keep climbing — and helping others do the same.
